Bilingual Teams Meetings Without the Workarounds

Inside the meeting you already run

No second phone line, no parallel call. Interpretation happens in the same Teams meeting your people join every day.

Human conference interpreters

Accredited professionals, briefed on your agenda, acronyms, and terminology.

Set up and monitored for you

On fully managed sessions a technician works with your organizer on the settings and stays on the call throughout.

Tested against your organization's Teams

Every organization locks Teams down differently. A test call proves our interpreters can get in and be heard.

The Teams meeting your people already know, now bilingual

Your organization practically lives in Microsoft Teams. The calendar invites, the channels, the Monday stand-up: it is all there. So when half the room would rather follow in French, or a partner abroad needs Spanish, the last thing anyone wants is a clumsy workaround with a second conference line and a phone pressed to one ear.

There is a better way. Teams has language interpretation built in, and we bring it to life with accredited conference interpreters. Attendees pick a language as they join, and from then on the meeting simply happens in their language, in real time, in a human voice.

Two ways to work with us

Fully managed. Our technician works with your meeting organizer to switch on interpretation, assign interpreters to their languages, and test everything ahead of time. During the meeting we stay on the call, watching audio quality and smoothing over anything that crops up.

Interpreters only. Your team runs the meeting and assigns our interpreters, and we provide the voices. A great fit for recurring committee meetings and weekly briefings where the routine is already well rehearsed.

What the organizer needs to do

  • Schedule the meeting and turn on language interpretation in the meeting options
  • Add our interpreters, or plan to assign them once the meeting begins. We will tell you which approach suits your tenant
  • Ask speakers to use a headset or external microphone on a stable connection
  • Send slides, agendas, and speaking notes ahead so interpreters can prepare terminology

Not sure where those settings live, or whether your organization's policies allow outside interpreters? That is exactly what the test call is for.

Who it is for

  • Federal, provincial, and municipal teams holding bilingual meetings
  • Boards, committees, and working groups
  • All-staff meetings and leadership updates across regions
  • Associations and unions with members in both official languages

Beyond Teams

The same interpreters and technicians support Zoom and Webex, as well as Google Meet. If some attendees are together in a boardroom while others join on Teams, our hybrid interpretation service ties the room and the call together. For the bigger picture, see online interpretation.

What we need to quote

Your date and duration, working languages, expected attendance, and whether you would like a fully managed session or interpreters only. Request a quote and we will reply with an itemized estimate.

What Your Attendees Do

  1. Join the meeting

Same Teams invite and the same Join button they click every day.

  2. Choose a language

Teams asks which language they would like to listen in. They can change it later from the meeting controls.

  3. Hear the interpreter

The interpreter's voice comes through clearly, with the original speaker faintly underneath.

  4. Take part as usual

Chat, raise a hand, unmute, and ask a question. Nothing else about the meeting changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Microsoft Teams support live interpretation?

Yes. Microsoft Teams has a language interpretation feature that lets professional interpreters work inside a Teams meeting. The organizer enables it in the meeting options and assigns interpreters to languages, and attendees choose the language they want to listen in.

What is remote Microsoft Teams interpretation?

It is live simultaneous interpretation delivered inside a Teams meeting by professional interpreters who join remotely. Each attendee picks a language and hears the meeting in that language in real time, with no extra hardware and no separate call.

How do attendees hear the interpreter in Teams?

When they join, Teams prompts them to choose a listening language. They then hear the interpreter, with the original speaker at a lower volume in the background, and can switch languages from the meeting controls at any time.

Can your interpreters join our organization's Teams meeting if they are outside our tenant?

In most cases, yes. How interpreters are admitted and assigned depends on your tenant's guest and meeting policies, so we always run a short test call with your organizer or IT contact before the live session to confirm that access and audio work.

How many interpreters does a Teams meeting need?

We staff the amount of interpretation to suit your specific needs, based on the length, format, and languages of your meeting.

Are there Teams meetings where interpretation will not work?

A few. Language interpretation is not available in end-to-end encrypted Teams meetings, and some meeting types and breakout arrangements have their own limits. Microsoft updates the feature regularly, so tell us how your meeting is set up and we will confirm what is possible, or suggest an alternative such as a dedicated interpretation platform.

Teams offers AI translation features. Why use human interpreters?

Automated translation keeps improving and can be useful for informal conversations. For board meetings, labour relations, consultations, and anything on the record, human interpreters handle accents, crosstalk, acronyms, sensitive wording, and tone far more reliably, and they prepare for your specific subject matter in advance.
