When the room is formal, the interpretation should be flawless
Webex tends to be where the serious business happens: the hearing, the regulatory briefing, the quarterly review, the cross-border negotiation. These are meetings where "I think they said..." simply is not good enough.
Webex has simultaneous interpretation built in for both meetings and webinars, and we staff it with accredited conference interpreters. Each participant chooses a language channel and then fine-tunes the mix with a slider, a little more interpreter or a little more of the original voice, until it sounds just right to them. The result is a session where everyone follows the same conversation, at the same moment, in the language they think in.
Two ways to work with us
Fully managed. We work with your host to enable interpretation, build the language channels, and assign the interpreters. We test with every interpreter in advance, and a technician stays on the call from the first participant to the last, keeping an ear on every channel.
Interpreters only. Your team hosts, and our interpreters join and take their channels. Ideal for recurring sessions run by people who already know Webex well.
What we need from the host
- A Webex site with simultaneous interpretation available and switched on
- The meeting or webinar scheduled with interpretation enabled, and the link shared in advance
- Speakers on a headset or external microphone, with a stable connection
- Slides, agendas, and speaking notes sent ahead, so interpreters can prepare terminology
Whether the feature is available depends on your plan and your administrator's settings. If you are unsure, we will find out together on a test call, well before the day.
What makes an interpreted Webex session run smoothly
| Ingredient | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| A test call on your actual site | Corporate and government Webex sites are configured differently, and surprises belong in a dry run |
| Interpretation staffed to your needs | Steady accuracy from start to finish, however long the session runs |
| Good speaker audio | An interpreter can only render what they can hear. A headset beats a laptop microphone every time |
| A briefing in both languages | A thirty-second explanation at the start shows everyone where the language menu is |
| A technician watching the channels | Small audio problems get fixed before your audience ever notices |
Who it is for
- Hearings, tribunals, and regulatory proceedings
- Government briefings and stakeholder consultations
- Corporate reviews, investor updates, and negotiations
- Webinars for a national or international audience
Beyond Webex
Prefer another platform, or working with a partner who does? We provide the same service on Zoom and Microsoft Teams, as well as Google Meet. For events with a room full of people plus a remote audience, see hybrid interpretation, and for the full picture, online interpretation.
